ISDN Accountant aide les entreprises utilisant un accès Numéris à Internet à contrôler qui utilise la connexion et détecter les abus.

LittleBrother Software présente ISDN Accountant 1.11, un programme Windows fonctionnant sur un PC en réseau qui collecte et analyse les statistiques d'utilisation Numéris par une liaison réseau dialup, et produit des rapports d'exploitation. Ce logiciel peut émettre des alertes à l'attention de l'administrateur en cas de consommation générale excessive ou d'abus du réseau par un utilisateur, et produire des rapports montrant comment réduire les coûts de connexion Numéris.

Ces fonctions permettent à l'administrateur réseau l'anticipation des problèmes et des factures téléphoniques excessives. ISDN Accountant est conçu pour les entreprises et collectivités utilisant des routeurs RNIS (Numéris) pour se connecter à l'Internet, ou pour établir des réseaux privés IP virtuels. La première version d'ISDN Accountant a été disponible dès le 10 Juin 1996, de sorte qu'il s'agit aujourd'hui d'un produit éprouvé et stable.

"Usually ISDN service is charged by usage so it is important to reduce the connection time. Most ISDN routers, however, do not include any software to monitor their usage. Moreover the monthly telephone bill only lists the total connected minutes; it does not itemize each call with details such as date, time, and duration. The customer has no way to verify the phone bill or tell if there are any router problems or configuration errors. If the ISDN router fails to disconnect when unused or someone is overusing it, the customer often will not realize this until a costly phone bill arrives," said Kan Ng, president of Kansmen Corporation. ISDN service providers such as Internet Service Providers (ISP), local telephone companies, ISDN router manufacturers and system integrators can extend their service businesses while reducing technical support calls from their customers by reselling ISDN Accountant.

ISDN Accountant runs on the customer’s network, continuously monitoring the ISDN router and recording router usage. It tracks each connection precisely, providing information such as when the connection was made, how long the ISDN line was in use, and who was using it. This data is collected and stored in a database permanently to offer the administrator easy access to both current and historical ISDN usage data at any time. ISDN Accountant displays usage data in an easy to understand format.

ISDN Accountant allows the administrator to specify a usage allowance for each user or for the entire company and will generate alerts to the administrator when the limit is exceeded.

Cost analysis can reduce ISDN connection costs

ISDN Accountant can also perform a cost analysis over the historical data collected and check to determine if changing the router parameters would reduce connection costs. This analysis can be scheduled on a monthly basis and ISDN Accountant can notify the administrator via e-mail if adjusting the router parameters could reduce the ISDN phone bill.

Generates reports in an organized, easy to read form

ISDN Accountant can generate regular reports on how many ISDN calls have been made; when the calls were made; what the costs will be; who made the calls; and who is making the most calls. The administrator can generate any of the many available reports at any time, or can schedule a report to be generated automatically on a regular basis
